In the advent of new electoral processes in Zimbabwe, in particular the introduction of new biometric voter registration system and polling station based registration and voting, demand for capacity building among election stakeholders and civil society players has heightened. The Election Resource Centre (ERC) has risen to the task of providing capacity building training across political parties, Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) nationwide. Over the last week, four (4) Bulawayo based CSOs requested the ERC to provide technical capacity building ahead of the implementation of the new electoral processes. When the organization obliged and went on to prepare for training, five more (5) organizations requested training alongside the original four (4). The ERC, which originally worked in only 14 districts across the country, has spread its wings nationally responding to demand for technical electoral assistance ahead of the 2018 harmonized elections.
